This series has been lovely, with great adventure, romance, and sizzling sex. Until this one.The story started with great promise, with a scary kidnapping involving young women and infants. Soon, however, it became a story about the feeding of babies, dotted with a lot of inexplicable dialogue focused on returning to Earth, where nothing good awaited any of the characters. The main h and her blind obsession with keeping a "young" pregnant woman away from an honorable potential mate came off preachy, sanctimonious and smug. Oddly, though the h seemed way over-concerned with the behavior of her wards, she was hypocritically getting it on with her crush. Wha??? There was also a whole lotta discussin' of whether the characters should have relationships with the aliens, while they were all having relationships with the aliens.I also have to say I thought the attempts to capture various character's dialects fell quite flat. Especially dreadful was the 4 year old.I am a big fan of Honey's, but this book wasn't nearly as good the others in this series. I was surprised that I actually mostly liked this book. I don't normally enjoy alien/human books because mostly the humans are slaves. This, thank goodness, was different and I adored Hrebek. Truly what a man should be, human or alien. Abby, not so much. I was very upset with her absolute rigidity towards Molly and Ribel being together. She had no understanding at all and put her own disappointment of her life on everyone else. Because she had helped the girls she seemed like she thought she owned them. And yet, she was having "fun" with Hrebek. What a hypocrite. However, the ending made up for most of this.There were three other things, combined with not liking Abby, that made me give it a 3 star review. The first was the title. Very off putting and cheesy. I debated several days until I decided to buy it despite the title. Ultimately I was glad I did because I mostly enjoyed it. Second was the cover. I never would have known that the female on the shoulder of the alien was a child except the authors mentioned that at the end. That does not look like a child to me. It looks like a small adult female. Which also almost stopped me from buying this, going back to my aversion of humans made into slaves by aliens. The third problem I had, and by far the most disappointing was that the authors dropped Kwaret, the Vedeckian that helped everyone as a matter of fact, like a hot potato at the end. His role was so pivotal and he was the reason that most everyone survived and thrived and yet the authors did not see fit to give him a one line happy ending or even a future. A huge oversight in my opinion.In spite of all of my complaints, I did enjoy the book and I thought the solution in the ending (for all but Kwaret) was terrific.
